The Reveal

A quick reminder, for those of you who didn't see the arrival... this is what Jessica Dickens sent to me. Lots of orange, and lots of types of beads that I had never worked with.
I couldn't make up my mind about which direction to go with all this loot - so, I went in all the directions!
Started out a little timid, made this pair of earrings. Used Jessica's glass disks and pressed glass rounds, added the blue and the handmade hooks. I decided that I liked the blue a lot..... so......
I moved on and made a necklace. I did this with my daughter in mind, she loves the circus. I managed to use the clasp Jessica sent - but I used to hang the focal piece and made a hook.
Jessica's focal, the glass rings presented the biggest challenge for me (no, I don't know why!) - but, lately I've been working with so much coiled wire, inspired by Kerry Bogert's book, Totally Twisted that I decided to try making something with those elements as well. I'm pretty happy with the overall look.

The last piece I made was the eyeglass chain - kind of my signature piece. Loved the experience of Bead Soup - the anticipation, the arrival, the thought process and the finished piece. Also loved being in touch with so many other creative people - Thanks to Lori and all of you!

    Great pieces you made! I love the use of the coiled wires, and like you, I've been inspired by Kerry's book, but have yet to make anything from it. I just love that circus necklace--it's so unique and interesting.

      I actually went to a workshop for her wire last Sept. at Art Bliss - Kerry does some wonderful work.

    You went to town on your creations! I enjoyed reading the process of how you came up with each piece. A lot of care and detail went to the creations. They are awesome!

      Whimsy is a good word - thanks for looking. You work in my new favorite medium - polymer clay, such amazing stuff. I just bought an extruder - I can't wait to have a little free time to play with it!

    I love the whimsy and fun in each of your pieces, but there's just something about your use of the blue with the interesting color of those pressed glass beads in the earrings that catches my eye. (WOW. . .that was a SUPER LONG sentence.) Long story short. . .those earring rock! :)

    Boy, you had a ball didn't you. You made such fun pieces, they make me want to smile so I know you must be smiling!! The blue was a great choice!! The circus piece is way cool and I loke the one with the glass circles. Love the sprockets. This is a piece that Yvonne Irvin would be way proud of.
