So, it turns out that waxed linen thread is harder to find then you would imagine. After some internet searching (and wandering distractedly) - I located some thread! Score!
I gathered all the homeless beads I had in shades of blue, (you need 50 or so) threw in a few cute little silver fish - and began learning how to make the Spiny Knotted Bracelet from the Stephanie Sersich book Designing Jewelry With Glass Beads (see last post). I'm feelin' a little clumsy, like my hands have half the knuckles I'm supposed to have! But like Dorie says, "Just keep swimming".
So far, it's looking like this:
I'm not happy about the back - I have to learn to make nice neat knots (say it 5 times fast!), but I love the look of this style - crammed with color, texture, size -I'm hoping that I'll still love it when I finally manage to get to the end.
