Sometimes its a color, a bead, fabric, a picture, an outfit - lots of things inspire me to make something. At the moment it's this little bit of edging that Jean van Brederode gave me last weekend when she was teaching a group of us how to enamel.
I love strong contrasts and bright, intense colors. This has the extra appeal of a great fuzzy texture and some serious whimsy. I'm excited at the thought of making earrings or adding a completely different element to a bracelet. Here's a picture of what Jean was inspired to do with it:
Incredible, yes? I think so too. Jean's work has this crazy, laugh-out-loud appeal. When I grow up I hope to have half her talent! Be sure to take a minute to check out her Etsy sight ~ and then look around you and find some fun colorful inspiration!
